Hi guys,
Is it possible to put 275/40/20 tires on the stock 20" daytona wheels? anyone tried it?
i want to get a new set of tires (need something with a bit more traction than the goodyear RSA's, thinking of toyos or the nitto innvo)
your help would be greatly appreciated :).

What are the width of them, 8.5", 9" maybe?
Either way you should be ok. People run 275/40/20's on 8.5" wheels, although that's probably the maximum for an 8.5" wheel.

Hey everyone, I tried to put Nitto Invo 275/40/20 on my Daytona. It has the same wheels as yours only black. They rubbed in the front so I went with the 255s instead. The 275s did look sick, but didnt work with the stock wheels.

You can put 275/40-20 all the way around on the SRT8, which has a 9 inch
wide wheel, and also a different shaped control arm which runs from on top
of the wheel/tire and curves around and down the back side. Much more room. With your setup it most likely would rub, and the wheels are not wide enough.

hmm interesting.. i personally want to only put them in the rear.. did that work or did the tires not fit?

The 275 tire fits just fine in the back, and in the front too...well except for doublecharger I guess.
The 275 will absolutely fit in the back.

Hey Gang, I am running 295\40 on my rear Daytonas, and they work great. They will rub in the air but set her down and no rubbing what so ever. And they don't look all bowed out either. I couldn't be happier.

If you are only going to use 275/40's in the back you should run 245/45's up front. If you run 255/45's up front your car will look goofy as hell running taller tires in the front than in the rear.

89grand: you have an offset wheel as shown in your signature. Tyrant is trying to use the stock Daytona wheels.
The 275s fit in the rear, not when the car is in the air, but on the ground no problem as said before. In the front with the Daytona wheels they rub the control arms. 255s work and look great.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to say that you didn't have rubbing issues, but it seems as though I've read a number of posts with people running 275's all the way around even on stock wheels, but maybe I'm wrong about that. Maybe they were all SRT8's.

07RTlover, really the 295's fit!.. must lok good from the back.. any pics?
btw guys my plan is to keep the 245's up front and 275's in the rear for a staggered look also to get a little more traction on our messed up roads.. mashing the pedal from 25-40mph will on most roads send me sideways! plus the look you get from wider rear wheels just fits the car so well :)
Thanks for all the help guys, now to go burn some rubber off those 245's lol :p.
