View Full Version : 360 Air Intakez Install
Alright, most of you have seen this wonderful engine. Here it is before doing anything.

First thing is remove the beauty cover. It will get put back later.

Next, remove the inlet air temperature sensor. First remove the plug by sliding the red tab up then squeeze the end to remove the plug. Then carefully pull out the sensor. I found that a screwdriver under the lip helped to pull the sensor out.

Next remove the air tube by lossening the two clamps, one at each end. It slides off pretty easy. Going to save mine for a little additional project for the air intake which I will do this weekend.

Then removed the small rubber hose that is mounted on the backside of the old air box. It just slides off nothing holding it in place.

Take the top off of the air box and removed the filter. The air box is held in with one 10 mm bolt, then it just slides out. This picture is with the air box removed. You can see the inlet air tube below.

Install the new box. There should be a bracket with the kit but mine seems to be missing it. No big deal I will just call them tomorrow and get them to send it to me. Everything fits tight enough that it is not an issue.

Install the filter and the aluminum tube. Use one of the hose clamps to hold it all together.

Next install the rubber elbow and tighten hose clamps. The elbow is 4 inch and the throttle body is 3.5 inches. The hose clamp easily pulls the elbow down to size. I did break one of the clamps (my fault, gorilla hands). Guess how many parts stores in town have a 4 inch hose clamp?? NONE! Guess where I found one....... Lowes! 4 inch hose clamps are used on dryer ducts. Now that is lucky. You can also reinstall the inlet air temp sensor. Be carefult when inserting. Reconnect the sensor wires. don't forget to push the red clip forward to lock the connector.

Install the new small rubber hose.

Reinstall the beauty cover and you are done. It is really easy and only took about 25 minutes not including the run to Lowes. Here are some final install pics.

I have already noticed that the throttle response is much quicker. Had four people in the car for the test drive after the install and she still spun the tires.

Have you noticed the 3.7 MPG increase the company says it is to get on the highway or the MPG increase in the city yet?

It actualy is the air intake tube from the factory. It goes to an air silencer box underneath.

The daytona must not have the silencer. The only thing is a air box with a 3" hole in the bottom of it. This must be the diffrence in the air intake beside the more open exhaust they come with. The only cars I have modified are mustangs. This is a whole new beast for me. I will look again but last time I looked there was nothing under the airbox. TY

this air silencer was eliminated by the factory on all 2006 r/t. my '06 magnum never had one either.
looks like you forgot a holes clamp on your install job. this system is made by 360 air intakez and they are no longer available. sorry.

wow, i just noticed the changes the 360 air intakez make from that early kit to mine. the rubber elbow on mine is a 3.5" to 4" so it fits the throttle body perfectly. they also moved the air temp sensor a little. i guess they made slight improvements in the later kits. too bad they stopped making them.
