You got the engine oil listed twice for the 5.7L, once 6.0qts and the other 7.0qts, am I missing something I should know about?
Also, experience from many of us have revealed that 6.5qts is enough to refill after an oil change on the 5.7L, do you have any clue as to why it is that way? (is the dipstick off or the manual)

I havn't changed my oil, but when the dealer changes my oil it always comes back well above the safe line. Maybe the dealer is putting oil in the filter before installing? Doesn't make sense, but is one possible answer.

That's because it says in the manual that it takes 7qts to refill after an oil change, but when I did mine the first time, it was overfilled too, so now I used 6.5 qts like many of us do.
Either the manual is wrong or the dipastick is off, no one seems to have the answer (this has been dicussed before)

Sorry, it looks like there are two related threads that should get merged.

One thing that I was looking up in the manual that I didn't seem to find was the capacity for the Wiper Fluid! Any ideas?

when empty, it will handle a 4L jug with room to spare.

I don't why this is becoming common belief. Either people aren't changing their filters (which I have known people who do this and I hope this isn't the case) or not draining the oil long enough. I have done every oil change on my car for 33k miles and have always been able to put 7qts back in right to the middle of the safe mark on the dipstick.
I normally drain for 30-60 minutes while I do other odds and ends stuff.
So you guys that are saying 7qts is wrong need to get yourself in check.
I think the engineers that designed the car are in a much better to position to say what is correct.
Is it possible that you are wrong?
