So since my new car will be on the road soon, i was looking for feedback on tires. Looking for how the members with these tires feel about them. Are you happy with them? why or why not. The will be going on 22" vipers. 265/35/22 and 295/30/22. Thanks.

I just went through this same decision process. I had Toyo Proxes4 on my 20" Viper wheels that I just sold. Excellent ride, good handling and very good wear. The problem is in the 22" size, the closest you're going to get is 265/30 and 285/30. I wanted a 265/35 and a 295/30 so I had to go with the Vred's. If you want those sizes too, you only have one choice between the two.

I think they make them in the S/T in that size but not the Proxes4's. The Proxes are a much better tire for our cars than the S/T's. (Sport Truck)

I've heard excellent things about them but I don't know yet. They're sitting in my yard waiting on wheels.

I know I like the Vreds better than the Nitto INVOs. They ride and handle better and I know they grip better on launches.

I love my V's. I am impressed with how they are wearing to. I have been really good about flipping them side to side but they are wearing much better then I thought they would.

I've had both in 20" sizes. Hands down the Vred's are a superior tire. Road noise, traction, handling... the Vreds wins.
I'd compare the Toyo's to RSAs, but the RSAs win there too cause their quieter on the road.
YMMV.

Hey what are you using the car for?
Cruising, drag race, road race? Your type of driving should play a part.
Toyo makes a good tire, but I think those sizes are not one of their more aggressive compounds and designs, thus you won't have the ride and stick you might hope for.
The Vreds are great tires too, but one thing everyone too often forgets is tires in 20" wheels sizes are often XL or Extra Load tires - they made them to go on an H2 or Expedition or some other big SUV.
I look at the traction rating and treadwear myself - an AA traction is good and if treadwear is under 250 its going to be a decent wearing decent sticking tire.
For reference, track day tires are AA with something like a 100 or less treadwear.

Thats a good point X E. Your intended usage should factor into this decision heavily.
However, I would not let the fact that the Vred's are considered an "SUV" tire deter you. Given our pigs weigh over 4500lbs, given their AA traction and 280 tread wear... well my opinion is this is an excellent "all around" tire, well suited to handle some fairly aggressive track use, as well as get you to that track and back in good, safe, quiet comfort.

This car is just going to be used for cruising. It will very rarley see the track. I just wanted feed back on road noise, tread life, handling etc. Thanks for all the relpies. Since I mount and balance tires all the time, I always see them new and have not had much feed back from customers weather they like them or not. But this is an excellent place for just that.

I've read only positive things about the vreds, and I'm ready to buy a set of 275/40/20. Where's the best price? I'm trying to get a group-buy going, as I know there are several others interested in this.

I've got ~1,500miles on a set of Vreds (275/40x20). They ride very comfortably and quietly. They also stop and go real well. But, their cornering has been (so far) a bit disappointing (which could be due to the tread squirming, which should diminish as the tires wear; or,I guess I could have them shaved). And, they look great (to the extent that tires can look anything),

I have heard nothing but good stories about the Vreds, plus they look nice...
I am in the market for the same size, but know where everyone got their tires?
I would like to know prices? So far ebay has them up for $900 and another website has them for $870 shipped... Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Sorry didnt mean to hijack, but i thought it might help both of us? And if 402 deals with Vreds, shoot me a PM with pricing please... And wish you all the best with ur ride...

Those tires are actually made for high performance SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne and AMG ML. These are the same exact tire that they make for cars. The main difference is they side walls are more reinforced for the heavier weight of a SUV.

Vred's have been great overall so far, but I agree about the cornering performance. They are relatively quiet, but I have noticed some tread related sound with windows down on specific pavement types. It sounds like the noise generated by driving across a steel grid constructed bridge, if that makes any sense. It is not intrusive at all once you roll the windows up though.
Back to cornering performance... I don't have any solid data and I haven't autocrossed with them yet, but on ramps and other seat of the pants cornering experiences leave me without as much confidence as I've had with F1's in the past. But for 8/10's driving and cruising, I think Vred's will be perfect.

As for the purchase source, I used Stefwilli (Stefan) on SRT8OC.com as the go-to guy. He ran a group buy a couple months ago, but I think he will still give you a great price if you PM him on the forums, and then you can pay securely through their website. They are in NJ, and it took about a week for the tires to get to CA.
(Edit due to non-suporting vendor.)
Back in March, his price beat the Ebay pricing by atleast $100. :thumbs_u: I would expect similar value to still be available.

Who doesn't want a good deal??
I was talking with Lori over at 402 Motoring and she stated they have Vred's on sale now that they are carrying them. If my RSA's weren't still at about 80%, I'd be talking with Ernie about a set of Verts. I've always gotten a good deal from them on stuff, and they are in NJ too.
I'm also looking forward to checking out their cars in Englishtown on the 17th.

I haven't seen anything for tires on their website. You have to call to get a quote for the vredesteins?

That's what I understand from Lori.
Since they are a newer item for them I guess their site isn't updated yet, dont know. Honestly, I haven't been on their website for several months. After all, I'm barely smart enough to navigate the internet...
