What is the cheapest way to do it. I have found a set of 22" sevas and tires but the guy lives in miami and Ilive near atlanta. He says shipping is about 300 dollars does that sound right I told him that was fine. Is ups ground any cheaper. Please if anyone knows how to ship wheels and tires let me know quick so I can tell him. Thanks in advance...

multipeice 22"s with tires are much heavier and the shipping rates are skyrocketing because of gas being so high , if hes padding 20 -30$ your lucky , check freightqoute.com as well.

That all sounds high. Although it has been a couple years I bought a set of Solstice rims and shipped from MD to Oh Fedex for $44 for the entire set. Last year I sold a set of Solstice rims and paid $12 per rim $48 for the set. No way they went up that much in a year.

Little over a year ago I sent my stock 20's with tires from Chicago to Kansas City via FedEx for like $185 or so.

UPS Ground
Rims only
(From NY to TX was 27.00 each)
Just go up on the UPS web site and put in the zip code info to get an estimate

True but it's less convenient.
I just do not know how to ship via Greyhound
www.shipgreyhound.com.
Save money, but
1) it takes longer - they give you a couple day window as to when they might make it on to a bus
2) they only go terminal to terminal - you have to drop them off pre-packaged at a terminal and the recipient has to go pick them up at a terminal. Depending on where you live, maybe not idea.
I got an SRT fascia in a box the size of a fridge from Chicago to Miami for under $80.

I sent four 17 inch wheels and tires from NH to CO for under $140.00 UPS ground last month.

Fuel Surcharges for all carriers went up again last week. Expect to pay more.
If you have your own account with any of the express carriers, you can control the cost. The guy can package them and deliver it to the local station. He can fill out the airway bill to include your accout number.
Just a suggestion...

06...Just ask him for the weight, and then use the UPS site..My 22" rim and tire combo that I just sold was 76.8lbs a piece...It was about $149 to ship to most places by UPS and about $447 to Canada with duty fees and all..Greyhound is good for a lot of things, but I would not trust them with wheels. I would use UPS or FEDEX. Now also factor in that it will cost him some $$ in supplies to get those puppies packaged properly. $300 seems a little high though, but I am thinking he might have the UPS store do all the packing for him, which in that case sounds right on. UPS store charges an arm and a leg to package items up for you.
Using my UPS account and my weight on my wheels and tires shipped from Miami to ATL. I calculate the following:
UPS Ground - Same Day Pickup (http://javascript<b></b>:popWrapper('http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/shipping/time/service/ground.html','pop_up_full_page'))
308lbs
Delivered By End of Day

164.80 USD*
^^The above is insured for $1500 and also having UPS coming to pick them up from his/her house.

I recently bought some 22" rims and tires and had them shipped from Miami to Halifax, Nova Scotia. I used Bax Global and paid around $300.00, and that was by air.
Don't forget to have the seller let the air out of the tires, just in case the transport company ships them by air.
