I just bought a set of replica wheels 17x9, 114.3 x 5 /w 24mm offset from discount tire and had a set of 275/40/17 hooseirs mounted on them.
They go right on, but I noticed this cable here in this first picture is extremely close to the wheel once I put them on.

Here is a stock tire and wheel, I noticed there is a big gap between the cable and tire.

Here is one of the hoosiers, it is very close if not actually rubbing on that cable.

I was thinking it might only be rubbing because the car was jacked up when I took these pictures. Do you think it will be ok once I lower the car down? Or am I going to need some sort of spacer?

That "cable" you're referring to is your rear swaybar...you won't hurt it

I just realized that, I'm stupid when it comes to wheels and suspension
I think once I lower the car down, it will be fine. I'm going to try tomorrow.

While you have the wheels off, take the factory retainer clips off.
They serve no purpose.
24 offset is pushing the envelope. You might have rubbing problems.

yeah, take off those rotor retainer clips. your new wheels have don't have the recess to clear them.

Just pop them off with a screw driver? How do I get them off?

Mesh wire cutters, or just pry it off with a screw driver.
The clips are bendable and soft.

Lay a straight edge across the inside lip of the bead on the wheel & measure to the mounting pad. That is the "backset"
It should be no more than 6", you might get away W/6 1/4" but that is getting dicey.
Also, that bolt pattern is 4 X 1/2". Not exactly the right bolt pattern but iit's only off by .028" & if they use conical seat lugnuts you should be OK to use them on the rear for drag radials.
Just be careful when tightening the lugnuts & do it gradually to keep the wheel centered.
Great looking drag radials BTW.
Those Hoosiers are suppposed to be 1 of the best.

What should I tighten them to? I've heard 80-90 ft/lbs, do you tighten them in stages or do you go strait to 90 ft/lbs?
