I just got home FROM Lake Esinore. Came over the Ortega Highway and up the 5 freeway. What a great time. This is a good model for a Meet and Greet.
I will post some of the better ones and set up an album with a link for all to view. Bear with me.
I will let our host, MAGNUM8R, sum up the day, but here are a few pictures to whet your appetite.

I thanked Magnum8r for his generosity in hosting such a wonderful event. I should also thank you RIO for your tireless effort in rounding up the freebies, taking the pictures, showing up for breakfast.

We should also acknowledge the goody contributions FROM :
Zoomers Exhaust
Volant
Jim Forrester at Jammin Dodge (Soon to be Rio Hondo Dodge)
Magnumowners club
and our very own DodgeMagnum.net

And to all those who had their spouses there, cool! MRs RIO, Mrs BigDaddy, Mrs Tax Lady, and all the other Mrs that were there to make the event even more classy!

I am so happy to have been in the company of so many matured and proffesional car fanatics 8)

RIO, next time, I won't park my wimpy Magnaflow exhaust next to your manly Zoomers exhaust.

Thanks to everyone for a great time! Especially Magnum8r for hosting and Cucamonga Red. My dad had a great time there - sorry we couldn't stay longer.

Here are a few photos I shot. I swear I'm doing this photo uploading thing right, but all it shows in my posts are the image URLs. If it doesn't work this time can someone clue me in as to why they don't SHOW within my post? Thanks, Bill

I want to thank everyone too. It was a great time and I enjoyed the company of all of you. I think we laid down the gaunlet with 15 magnums total throughout the day. A pretty big number. I wonder how long it's going to take to top that? Hopefully by the next meet I'll have a manly exhaust also and one of them cool intakes. I spoke with a few guys towards the end and discussed a meeting down here in San Diego. I volunteer at a nature center that would most likely have no problems with us doing something there. I'll find out some info and let everyone know. Anyway, thanks for everything...

Wow what a fun day! I just want to thank everyone who turned out with their families and there great looking Magnums for making this event such a success. I especially want to thank Mark and Godwin for all their hard work. My wife (Mrs. Tax lady) and I had a great time and we will be looking forward to another get together in the future! I took lots of pictures and I gave them to RedinOrange, so I am sure he will be posting them very soon along with lots of others.

Looks like a cool meet and great time. Reminds me of many of the 300M club meets we do.

I hope we can do a meet such as this on the east coast sometime this year. ;)

The Carlisle All Chrysler Nationals in July in Carlisle, PA in July or the Detroit Woodward Dream Cruise in August are other possible times to get together as well.

I'm really glad everyone had a good time!
The Soaring Club pilots and Members on hand all remarked about what a nice GROUP of people we were, and also welcomed us back any time!!
I'm heading out to breakfast with a few Members, then off to the Club for some clean up, a CHECK ride, and an afternoon flight.
I gotta cook up some more burgers and dogs leftover FROM yesterday for whoever shows up!!
Thank you, everyone for coming, I think we had a great first Meet 'N Greet, and I also thank our sponsors:

Volant Intakes

I hope I got everyone.
Let's plan another one soon!
I hope some more photos get posted today! There should be a few glider shots also!!

I LOATHE heights. I have had sweat soaked nightmares about heights and HAVING to jump. I WONT like it, I AINT doing it. I AM NEVER trying it!

8)Yeah, I gotta disagree with F as well........I was a cop for 10 years and was shot in my first 6 months.....but I could have gone my entire career without being shot to tell you that I DON'T LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I surely didn't need to shoot anyone to tell you that I could find better things to do with my time then end someone else's life, regardless of the situation. If it has to be, fine, but do I WANT to do it? HELLFU*KNO!!!!!!

I am just saying. ;)

My response to cuca was supposed to be a little light hearted jab back to his comments. I didn't mean bungee jumping is for everyone. I have never and will never set up a jumping rig on a bridge and get as many jumps as I can before the cops SHOW up like you see on TV. Those people are nuts and are the ones who die while being extreme. I also dont want to imply that I am chasing the reaper. I wouldnt say I have a fear of heights, but I do respect them dearly, part of my job was to climb the jump tower for maintenence and inspections. I was more afriad of this than jumping. Although the sport looks like it has a violent snap at the end and is dangerous, Im telling you it is very smooth and very regulated. There are several safety back ups that would prevent you FROM falling to the pavement. The park has literally jumped tens of thousands of customers with zero deaths or injuries. What I meant with F, was that of the couple of thousand customers I put out as a jumpmaster, most of them were nervous, apprehensive, scared sh**less, and rightfully so, they were about to do something a normal brain would deem stupid. But after they jumped (or got pushed if they wanted me to), I only had 2 or 3 people tell me they hated the experience. the rest just enjoyed the adreniline buzz that stayed with them for at least a half hour. Thats what doing this boils down to, adreniline. some get it FROM jumping FROM planes, driving cars fast, responding to emergency calls, or whatever. I just found a way to get a heavy shot of it in 2 seconds. the buzz FROM the 104th jump is not even close to the first jump, but I havent done it for 3 years so if I was to go, id be scared to death again...

So Bob.....have you come back down to earth FROM your Glider ride? Like a kid that just got laid for the first time... ...you looked so blissfully happy ...so in trance when you got off that Glider. I was so sure you were going to go up in the glider again!

That glider ride was the bomb :thumbs_u: I could get hooked on gliding. Getting laid for the first time and full throttle acceleration in the magnum are better but the glider comes in 3rd :D :D

I would much rather jump FROM a 100' cliff then tie a rubberband to my ankles and jump. Much more excitement in cliff jumping in my opinion.

I was skydiving during 1982 to 1985. I believe it was 1983 when I got a chance to jump off El Capitan in Yosemite.

All the local skydivers at Pope Valley, Antioch and Livermore wanted to be one of the first 100 to jump off El Capitan. Sky divers are INTO "first times" and records, etc. Carl Boenish, a famous base jumper that later died on a base jump in Norway, was keeping track of the jumpers/jumps off of El Capitan. I was told I was number 92 to jump off of El Capitan.
I jumped with 10 other skydivers. We all hiked to the top on Saturday and jumped Sunday morning at sun-up when the winds were at their lowest.
I was the 9th person to jump.
Unlucky for me and the last guy(Gary), we got busted by the park rangers.
All the other jumpers were able to stash their rigs INTO their car trunks before the rangers arrived. There were friends waiting for us with cars at the bottom so the rangers didn't know how many actually jumped. The rangers apparently saw a sun reflection off of Gary's or my parachute/rig. By the time we landed the rangers were just arriving. So they only busted me and Gary because they saw us coming down in our parachutes.

We got hauled to jail and stripped searched! Yes, honest truth. Bend over and spread them! Finger printed, mug shot, dressed in orange jail monkey suits with YOSEMITE JAIL on our backs.
We were in jail FROM about 6 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon when we were taken by patty wagon to see the court magistrate. Lucky for us the magistrate worked Sundays, otherwise we would have had to stay in jail until Monday.
We were allowed to put our street cloths back on. Gary and I were handcuffed with another guy who was busted for drunken and disorderly conduct, and I think he had a warrant. The other guy remained in his orange jump suit because he was going to be returned to jail. As we all three come walking out of the jail house handcuffed together in a daisy chain, a tour bus is sitting there parked outside the jail house. We got a lot of stares and some were taking our pictures.
We get to the court house and all our friends and other skydivers are hanging around waiting for us.
We get hauled INTO the court and we are HAVING a hard time not laughing with our friends. We didn't want to look cocky and unremorseless to the magistrate, so we had to try and keep a serious and sad face. We hadn't really been told what the charges were until the magistrate tells us we are charged with "illegal air lift INTO a national park", which is a misdemeanor. But then the magistrate scares us and says he could charge us with a felony for endangering some federally protected falcons that were nesting on El Capitan. Supposedly our skydiving could disturb the falcons, which is a felony.
Anyway, we get charged a misdemeanor, and fined $250 each.
Lastly, and most importantly, we got our parachutes and jump suits returned. The jailers kept telling us we may not get our sky diving equipment back.

So be careful when base jumping! The law may not be far behind.
