Has anyone ever used performance sway bars and/or a strut tower brace without changing over the suspension on an R/T or Daytona?

I've seen rave reviews about both of these buy everyone I talk to seems to have either upgraded to SRT suspension or coilovers.

How necessary is the shorter / stiffer suspension when adding sway bars?

Did it on an RT and on an SRT... not sure which suspension the Daytona has but it's got to be one of the two. And the difference is HUGE around corners.

The Daytona and R&T are upgraded from the standard R/T and are "self leveling" via the rear shocks.

Not sure if you can answer this, but can you tell a difference between the R/T with sways and the SRT with Sways. Is it worth changing to the SRT suspension?

SRT sits a little bit lower so it looks a little more aggressive, and it's definitely tuned to be "sportier." You get a little extra feedback on bumps but not nearly enough to be annoying. The car settles faster, meaning instead of bouncing a couple times like a Cadillac after an input to the wheel, it's tighter. Cornering stock-for-stock is far better as well thanks to the springs.

The swaybars are kind of a separate adjustment that helps the cornering a ton.

I put the front SRT8 shocks on my RT first, Then you could really feel how inadequate the rear RT Nivomats were. Then I put on the SRT Nivomats left stock springs on, but handling much improved. Lastly I put on the Hotchkis sway bars, holy shiat, now it handles incredible. Ride is pretty firm, I'm happy and don't want to put the SRT springs on and make it worse, plus lowering looks great, but in Maine with our crappy roads, we need the extra road clearance. The sway bars are worth every penny. If you do the SRT take off, think about the road conditions before using the SRT springs.

I've been wanting to put RT or SRT suspension on my SXT since I've had it. I've also had at least 4 people say I could have them cheap or for just shipping and none of them has followed through. What do I have to do to get the used rear sways that one of you guys have taken off?

Sorry about the high jack but this is a sore subject for me.

DannyC - I sold mine for like $75 shipped or so both times. The take-off sways should go cheap IMHO. The shocks/springs usually run $300-$500/set depending on mileage and condition from what I've noticed.

I just installed ST front and rear sway bars on my Magnum RT a couple of weeks ago. The rest of my suspension is stock, with Nivomats on the rear.

The cars corners much flatter, as expected. What is really noticeable is that when taking a sharp 90* turn at speed the front end actually rotates and turns where the wheels are pointed, instead of pushing (as the NASCAR boys say). It really tucks in and goes where it is pointed.

On uneven surfaces and bumps the suspensions feels stiffer because the sway bar acts as a heavier spring when the wheels on the same axle deflect at a different rate.

Another difference I have noticed is on the interstate. The car is much more stable in crosswinds (it has been very windy here lately). Before the sway bars, in a gusty crosswind you could feel the car move around. Not now.

I installed them myself. The front bar is no problem. The rear bar is more involved because you have to loosen the exhaust hangers and the rear suspension cradle to access the rear sway bar. :modding:

The short answer to your question: GET THE SWAY BARS:rock:

I got a set if you want them. $75 shipped.
