Mine are just the front calipers on stock rotors for now - the others have full sets with different rotor configurations between them, etc.

Todd TCE on the forums sells them with custom brackets made out of billet to fit our cars. Quality stuff.

Ok, thats what I'm lookin for. Thanks for the info dudes.

Any reason why you went with 6 up front and 4 in the back Noid?

My goal to run a bigger slotted disc and 6 piston all around if cash permits.

I have Wilwoods too. I also have 6 pistons each in front and 4 in rear. That's way it set up. I'm not sure if they have 6 pistons for rear.

Thanks DeafCharger.

Did any of you folks use bigger discs? And whats the cost that this upgrade runs?

The 6's for the rear are just over kill. As it stands you can bias the brakes with different compound pads. A nice street set-up is the BP 10's up front and i forget the number, but less agressive pad in the rear. A better more agressive combo would be the BP 20's front and BP 10's rear. I've run that on the track and for a moderate braking track like Willow's big course that works great. A hard braking course like the infeild at Cali, it's not a great combo. There the pads can be overly over-heated and will wipe out in short order. After a couple different times of wiping out pads has left me with this combo for a hard braking track, the BP 20's rear and the type H up front. But remember those pads on the street are overly agressive and will waste your rotors if you don't keep them heated properly. BTW, the 20's all the way around work very well on the street if your into impromto canyon carving, but can be slightly dusty.

Thanks DeafCharger.

I have not gone to the bigger rotors. I will say that if you decide to really get into road courses, they ARE the way to go. For cost, I suggest you call Todd. His verbal prices are always MUCH better then his advertised price. The front and rear kit will run you around 2K. But call him, sometimes he has super good guy deals.

One other thing about Todd. I have delt with almost every performance vendor on these boards. And when it comes to product/application support, Todd ranks #1 in knowledge.

Thanks Cam.

As far as driving conditions go for now its just regular everyday traffic like freeways and city streets. I'll build for the road course as time permits. For now I need to start light.

Any idea of how much just the front caliper/pad set costs? I plan on using stock rotors for now.

Junior

$1200.

Will this work to Ditch the front Brembo's also?

Junior

^^^ That question came up the other day - currently the answer is "probably not' (because what's the market to manufacture a bracket to sell Wilwoods to guys who have Brembos), but Todd would like to take a close look at a stock SRT setup to see what would be necessary.

The reason for me not going larger or 6 piston rears was because of the cost. Plus I wasn't going to go to road courses...

The cost for my set-up was about $3400.00 shipped...

Todd at TCE is the man for this set-up and knows his stuff...

Ah... thats Brembo thinking :D. Tere are no posi-quiets for this kit and you don't need them. Use the standard kit pads and you will have almost no dust and it will be nice and quiet. Those are the BP-10's in the front and the T's in the back.
As far as driving conditions go for now its just regular everyday traffic like freeways and city streets. I'll build for the road course as time permits. For now I need to start light.
Then just go with calipers and leave the rotors alone. You will ONLY be blinging the car out at that level. There's no need for a brake upgrade. For what you are describing, if performance alone matters you'd upgrade your pads, upgrade your fluid and maybe go to stainless lines for the feelgood they give. But if it were me I'd get the calipers and paint 'em red, which is the slowest color for calipers :D

oh and everything Cam said is dead on. I presently have BP20's in front and BP10's in the rear but I would have no problem going back to the base level BP10/T combo. Both are good on the dust although BP10/T is dam near dust free. I may go back for that reason.

BTW the pic on the TCE home page is my car in the driveway. Note the Challenger R/T badge on the fender.

The Plus 2 kit XE Ryder has is the same one many of us have... except Todd is now offering a new, improved, bigger caliper. I saw XE's at SpringFest and, even though the rotors are the same size, that caliper is just freaking on steroids. Gorgeous. I'm jealous.

I do want to build for the future and road course this thing. Thats my goal before summer ends anyhow.

FWIW, a six pot rear is not out of the question. However clamping power is less about the qty as is the area. You can do this with one, two, four, six or more and that alone does not mean one design is better than another. Most rear kits are four pot due to their lower piston area where a six pot of very small area would prove costly to produce and of little value over a more common four pot.
