With 25,000 miles on my BFG 255-55-18 KDW-NT's I can only say I'm very happy with their performance wet and dry, they are also wearing very well with 8/32" tread left and Discount Tire has been great taking care of them for me. Just had them rotated and balanced last week and they trued right up, never a vibration or a pull ... I keep them at 36 psi ....
But DANG are they getting noisy!!!! The road noise at highway cruising speeds is easily double what it was when they were new, it is even intruding inside the car with the windows rolled up to the point where I have to crank the tunes up about 2-3 notches on stereo to cancel it out ... I guess I don't have to worry about it when I need tires again since this size has been discontinued by BFG ...
Your treadlife may vary ...

Try running them at 40 psi and see how they sound, mine were noisy at lower pressures as well. Mine have almost 30K on 'em now and I'll be replacing them before I do any roadtrips this year.
They sure do smoke nice though!

Thanks Mike, maybe I'll try adding a couple pounds of pressure ... I've kept them at 36 psi since new ... I don't want to over-inflate though, the roads in TX get HOT in the summer ...

About the same I guess, didn't notice the GA until after I hit the go button ... we usually get about 30 - 45 days at 100+ temp during June and July...

When you replace em, you might want to look at the General Grabber UHP's. I had those excellent BFG's and replaced with the UHP's and they handle very similar, wear at least as good. Best rain tire ever, unfortunately as noisy as the BFG's. Not sure if Discount Tire has em, but Tire rack has em for $112.

Thanks formerice ... others have mentioned the UHP's as well ... tire noise is not a deal breaker for me if I get the performance level I'm looking for ... the rain in the Dallas-Fort Worth area today was biblical and my KDW-NT's never put a foot wrong commuting to and from work ... and when I take little weekend excursions down into the hill country and play boy racer on the twisty bits they work great ... and they hook up real nice at the track ... all in all a good buy at $142 each IMHO ... so the Generals will even save me money and the Coopers are also less expensive than the BFG's ... there are a lot more choices in our size now than there were a couple of years ago ...
