That's right. The one and only Grinner Hester of Moddin' Art fame (& LXF royality) will be in Austin and we are going to get together for dinner.
Plan to attend. This is during spring break for many Texas school districts (& it is SXSW) so hopefully you can join in, even if you are not from this area. SXSW is a huge music and video/media event. Hundreds of bands converge vying for recording contracts. http://sxsw.com/schedules/
If you need a room, don't delay! Be sure and check www.CapitalCityModernMopar.com (http://www.CapitalCityModernMopar.com) for our local hotel connection.

Ok, I'm listening :)
What do you recommend for a somewhat central TexMex spot that we do get a huge wait and we won't get pushed away from the table as soon as we finish eating.
I have been to La Palapa over on 290 east near Reagan HS and it was good, but what do you think?

Not to mention, your taking him to the most ghetto Baby A's in Austin. :doh:LOL. Yeah, you heard it from me.

ok, ok, I got ya. We've shot down Baby A's, but none of you have offered anything that is central and accomodating to our leasurely arrival and departure. Don't forget SXSW is going on, too!
It's gotta be "meskin" !

There is always Chuy's off of 183. They have great food and a fun atmosphere. Not sure if they will have enough parking for us though, maybe in the back of the parking lot.

I frequent all 3 north side Chuys (FYI: a new one is opening at MoPac & William Cannon), and have to say N Lamar seems to have less wait and better parking IMO (bigger spots). It seems 183 & RR are both busy all the time.

Chuy's N.Lamar is fine by me.
I'll adjust the info in teh earlier posting. Let us know if you already have your name down and want it taken off.

So when you are done with Grinner send him west. It's only 1500 more miles to Irvine. Have fun! I've met him and he is so great in person.
What time is everyone meeting?
I don't know that I will be able to stay all evening, but I'd like to at least try and make it by and say hello to everyone!

Hey Papa Bo! We'll probably start showing up around 5:30 and go inside about 6 or so.
I suggest we park in the lot across Lamar since it is wide open. The down side of that is you have to play frogger to cross the road.

Well guys.....looks like a pretty big chance of rain on Monday throughout the morning. No Bueno ......So, I guess not everyone's ride will be perfectly spotless for the dinner huh??? I know mine won't since I have to drive into Austin bright and early Monday morning from Waco. So, I'll have a good 99miles of rain. What sucks is I just got done detailing the hell out of my car today:doh:

Hey Grinner, if we start showing up about 5:30 at Sholtz's is that a good time for a meal before your party/shoot starts? I was out of town all weekend and have some household catching up to do. They have good food at Sholtz's.
One block north of Sholtzs is a state parking lot that is emptying out about 5 and as long at there isn't a basketball game it is open to free use.
What do you think?

thats absolutly perfect.
I dunno about parking. Tonight, it was empty with the exeption of a cop runnin off some kids in a garage on skateboards. I'm all set up for the shoot and it will be casual enough we'll get to hang.

yeah, yeah. The Bee will still look show-room new in 2028. Of course, gas will be $325.00 per gallon by then. At least we can crank it over in the garage and have a cold one....:beerchug:

The trip downtown is gonna rule me out as well. Momma and baby want my attention. I was gonna sneak by Chuy's after work, since it is close....

Damn, I wish I had seen this thread earlier. I've been drinking beer since 1 PM, so there's no way in hell I'm gonna drive 40 miles to the big city. Just so y'all won't think badly of me for starting so soon, I stated work at 1 AM this morning and did 10 hours. I was more than ready for a few cold ones. When does Grinner head back north?
