While horseplaying around in the car, the engine light popped up. I tried turning the car off, it went away and popped back up. Now it won't turn off...error code is PO700. Sometimes the car goes in limp mode...stuck in 'D' and 2nd gear. I have to turn off the car and start it back up. Happend ~3 times tonight after flooring it or just driving really slow. Not sure what's up or whether I should take it to the shop. Prolly gonna reset the battery and reload a tune on the predator. Is my TCM or transmission shot? I plan to replace the torque converter next month and hopefully the shop will beable to checkout the tranny. Reading some older posts some say it can be a loose wire? Can this be visually inspected? Or am I looking for the wrong thing?

P0700 is a generic code meaning that the TCM has detected a malfunction. you'll need to get the TCM scanned for a more specific code.

can't really tell without a more specific code. get it scanned. IIRC, some large auto parts stores like autozone and pep boys will scan it for free.

I got the same code on Thursday while flooring it over 5k RPM. With the Diablo it tends to happen to my car since I have the raised shiftpoints feature on. Light went off today and its all golden.
