hey all, i just have a question about my 2005 magnum r/t. it has the SLP loudmouth 1 catback, in the summertime i got a diablosport predator and put in the 91 octane set tune, with some modified parameters. before i got the tune my car would make a gurgle sound when it upshifted, especially at high RPM, after i put the tune on it went away and just ****s gears with no sound. i put the car back to stock tune for the winter and that is when i noticed it again. i like the sound, i was just wondering why it went away with the tune, another member said he thinks it has something to do with the car shifting "better" in some way and thats why is no longer makes the sound. i have tried playing around with the parameters and couldn't get a hint of it back, im just curious to know why the tune has stopped making the gurgle.
In passing, I've heard that unlike the stock tune, the Diablosport canned tunes cut fueling when RPMs drop (such as an upshift). This would explain the gurgle during gear changes, especially since it only happens on the stock tune. It's just an educated guess, but I'd imagine it's something simple like that. Maybe someone else can chime in and correct me?
The OEM programming does indeed briefly cut fuel / timing during the shift event. With an aftermarket programmer, this is negated to a significant degree.
Could it be do to your tranmisson shifting quicker now so there is no time for the sound to happen between the shifts?
